Lecturer Jörg Menke-Peitzmeyer at KHAS Theatre Department

After receiving his MA degree at the Theatre department of the Folkwang University of Arts in 1990, Jörg Menke-Peitzmeyer worked as an actor for almost fifteen years at several German municipal and state theatres. He also graduated from the German Literature Institute at the University of Leipzig, where he studied Drama Writing from 1998 to 2003. 

He is the author of more than 30 theatre plays and two novels, especially for young audiences, translated into several languages. He also directed some of his plays and pieces by other writers. For his work, he received many rewards and scholarships, including the German Youth Theatre Prize 2016. 

In 2012 he was an artist-in-residence at Nanjing University in China. Between 2015-2017 and 2019-2021, he taught German Drama and Literature at the Marmara University in Istanbul.
